As promised, here is our write up of our weekend at Bodyflight Bedford World Challenge, 10th Anniversary.. Can you tell what's coming?..
It's been a while since our last post so there's quite a few updates to share. Firstly, at the end of 2014, after several meetings and emails, we were very kindly offered sponsorship for 2015 by not only Bodyflight Wind Tunnel, but also our home DZ, Skydive Chatteris. We are extremely grateful for such amazing support and opportunities from both organisations and we're hoping with their help we can really do them proud.
We've just got home from our last competition of the season and a new one for this year Bodyflight Revenge. If you're not sure, the Revenge is a meet to see if you can beat/better your performance at Nationals (only a few weeks ago). For us it was another opportunity to do our best and have a lot of fun - as usual!
So we've just got home from our second year at the UK 4-way FS Meet at Skydive Hibaldstow, this time competing in AA category. It was amazing to see so many teams enter this year, making it an even bigger competition than previous ever - and still the worlds largest 4-way event.
Firstly, apologies for the absence of posts. It's been a pretty quiet summer for most of us since we competed at UKSL Sibson (results are up on the scores page now)!
We felt super prepared going into Bodyflight World Challenge 2014. We'd just had our tunnel camp and two evening sessions the week before, not to mention our practice round on the Thursday evening before went incredibly well. You can imagine how great we were feeling after Round 1 on the Friday morning kicking the competition off in second place!
Good news and sad news from the ChatterChick camp lately. The good news is it's only just over a month until Bodyflight World Challenge and we're getting more and more excited each day. We cannot wait to get back in the tunnel for some last minute practice in a few weeks. However, we do have some rather sad news. There's a strong possibility that Sarah, our kick-ass inside centre will have to undergo surgery on her knee not long after World Challenge which could see her out of jumping for some time. It is very unfortunate and we are all gutted, though not as much as she is, but at the same time we are going to support her and make sure that she can come back to the team only when she is ready and comfortable to. Health and fitness is far more important than any sport. No doubt Sarah will be joining us at the competitions to show support (and enjoy the parties!) and maybe with good luck and physio she might not even need the op - but one step at a time. If it's a case of bad news we will be having a small shift around this season and will be welcoming our camera-girl Ro into the formation as IC. We're very fortunate to have such an awesome team behind us that we're able to have someone as talented as Ro as alternate. Finding our new camera-flyer is currently in progress but we keep you updated. For now, we're going to start prep for WC where you'll see us as our normal 4-way line up. I'm sure you will all join us and cross your fingers for Sarah that all goes well and smoothly and whatever needs to be done, it's a speedy recovery.
We're really really excited to let you all know that on the 9th Feb we've booked in for an hours training with UKTunnelCamp.com, run by the UK's top coaches Pete Allum and Steve Hamilton. It will be the first time that we've had coaching on this sort of level and we're hoping that it will really kickstart our second season together and our first time in AA Class. We finally got with the times and gotten our very own new website. Take a look around and let us know what you think.
Don't forget you can also still catch up with us via Facebook (here) for instant updates on what we're up to. |
